Never, Ever Give Up!!! ~ Inspirational Friday with Diamond Dallas Page

NEVEFR GIVE UP

Arthur’s story is highlighted from the beginning, in the upcoming documentary, INSPIRED: The Movie.http://www.inspiredthemovie.com
(Thanks to filmmaker Steve Yu for putting this inspirational video together!) Published on Apr 30, 2012.

10 million views of the Youtube video (below) so far!

Arthur Boorman was a disabled veteran of the Gulf War for 15 years, and was told by his doctors that he would never be able to walk on his own, ever again.

He stumbled upon an article about Diamond Dallas Page doing Yoga and decided to give it a try – he couldn’t do traditional, higher impact exercise, so he tried DDP YOGA and sent an email to Dallas telling him his story.

)

Dallas was so moved by his story, he began emailing and speaking on the phone with Arthur throughout his journey – he encouraged Arthur to keep going and to believe that anything was possible. Even though doctors told him walking would never happen, Arthur was persistent. He fell many times, but kept going.

Arthur was getting stronger rapidly, and he was losing weight at an incredible rate! Because of DDP’s specialized workout, he gained tremendous balance and flexibility – which gave him hope that maybe someday, he’d be able to walk again.

His story is proof, that we cannot place limits on what we are capable of doing, because we often do not know our own potential. Neither Arthur, nor Dallas knew what he would go on to accomplish, but this video speaks for itself. In less than a year, Arthur completely transformed his life. If only he had known what he was capable of, 15 years earlier.

Do not waste any time thinking you are stuck – you can take control over your life, and change it faster than you might think.

Hopefully this story can inspire you to follow your dreams – whatever they may be.
Anything is Possible!

HOW EARTH MADE US – WATER ~ A MUST SEE VIDEO!!!

HOW EARTH MADE US_WATER

How Earth Made Us – The untold story of history.

This is part 2 in Professor Iain Stewart’s series, “How Earth Made Us”.  I highly recommend you take an hour to watch it as it is superlative!!!

Our planet has amazing power, and yet that’s rarely mentioned in our history books. This series tells the story of how the Earth has influenced human history, from the dawn of civilisation to the modern industrial age. It reveals for the first time on television how geology, geography and climate have been a far more powerful influence on the human story than has previously been acknowledged. A combination of epic story telling, visually stunning camerawork, extraordinary locations and passionate presenting combine to form a highly original version of human history.

Youtube video, “How Earth Made Us – Water”, uploaded on May 16, 2011 – Of all our planet’s forces perhaps none has greater power over us than water.  For me water is the most magical force on earth.  The presence of water shapes, renews and nourishes our planet.  It’s our planet’s life blood, that pumps through it continuously…

Water

This time he explores our complex relationship with water. Visiting spectacular locations in Iceland, the Middle East and India, Iain shows how control over water has been central to human existence. He takes a precarious flight in a motorised paraglider to experience the cycle of freshwater that we depend on, discovers how villagers in the foothills of the Himalayas have built a living bridge to cope with the monsoon, and visits Egypt to reveal the secret of the pharaohs’ success. Throughout history, success has depended on our ability to adapt to and control constantly shifting sources of water.

Discover why societies have succeeded or failed, and how the environment has influenced every aspect of our history from art to industry, religion to war, world domination or collapse. Visiting some of the most iconic places on Earth, How Earth Made Us overturns preconceptions about our civilisations and our cultures to offer a new perspective on who we are today.

AMAZING SHAMU ~ INCREDIBLE MOVIE!!!

The Story of “Believe” centers on a boy and his amazing connection to a Killer Whale. For the first time in the  history of Sea World, an original score was produced specifically for a Shamu show biggest production of Sea World’s history- Uploaded by Marciodisney on Apr 7, 2011.

What I find to be so amazing and incredibly moving is the fact that humans can interact so successfully to the point of ‘being as one’ with 9,000 pound (one is actually 12,00 lbs.!) killer whales who are the top predators in the world, killing and eating anything they want at any time.  The absolute devotion and love the trainers have for these Orcas is overwhelmingly beautiful.  What magnificent and majestic animals they are!!!

Here is a quote from the video, “Behind the Scenes – Beautiful”.  “Each of us in our world, in our own right has a moment in our life where something happens to us and everything that’s happened before comes into focus and we are changed from that moment on.”  ~ Don Franz, Producer/Creative Director in the video, ‘Making of Believe’

The relationship between trainer and whale is based on trust, positive reinforcement and love and the animals thrive.  Laura Surovik, Assistant Curator for Animal Training, has worked with the orcas for 21 years and her favorite  ~ “ there’s always that one…her name is Katina, she started it all in 1985 when she had her first baby and I love her like a person. I feel she’s taught me how to be a better mom, a better wife, a better a better friend, just a better human being.”

I must say that I can’t remember when I’ve been so moved watching a movie and I hope that you will find it to be as well.   These lyrics from the song, ‘Believe’ say it all: “A single moment, our eyes open wide, anything is possible.  And in that magic moment, somewhere deep inside, all that was impossible is possible.

Of course it goes without saying that this is ‘one of the best’ to share with your family and friends.

Don’t you just want to experience the thrill of being able to hug one of these majestic animals – I DO!!!

The power and the general awesomeness make them near the top of the food chain, and there is something interesting in all of that.”  “They’re smooth. They’re iconic. They’re a lot of species,” De Franco says of sharks. “They’re just awesome.”
